BIOGRAPHY
Carlo Toresani, born in Naples Italy
is a pianist, composer and arranger. He began studying piano at the age of 8 with teachers from the “San Pietro a Maiella” Conservatory of Music in Naples.
Carlo was part of several music groups and performed in clubs and hotels throughout Italy and several European countries until 1970 when he was offered to join a band and perform on a Cruise Liner out of New York.
After about three years of playing shows on several cruise ships, Carlo decided to leave the ship and pursue his dream in the USA. Many challenges awaited him but Carlo left nothing standing in his way in order to achieve his goals!
Music brought him from New York to Miami then to Boston where Carlo furthered his studies in Arranging and Composition at the Berklee College of Music.
After many travels
with his own groups throughout New England and New York, Carlo moved to Las Vegas where he played in many clubs, hotels and casinos. Carlo also had the pleasure of performing at two parties attended by Frank Sinatra.
From Carlo’s own recollection:
“I will never forget when Mr. Sinatra walked up to me and said: Beautiful music Carlo…! “
Among several personalities of the music industry, Carlo had the pleasure of playing for Dionne Warwick, Sunny Turner (lead singer of The Platters) and the singers of the Las Vegas Opera Theatre.
A personal note from Carlo:
“ A quote I will always cherish”: “ Carlo, it would be a shame if the world wouldn’t get to ear your music! “
Those were the exact words of a dear friend of mine, who is no longer with us, right after he heard me play some of my composition. Those words stayed with me since then and made me strive to write and compose the best melodies to fulfill my friend’s wish as well as mine.
